In absolutely wild news, it seems that Kristen Wiig is in talks to play the villain in the Wonder Woman sequel, opposite Gal Gadot‘s Diana.
Variety reports that she’s the top choice, and personally picked by director Patty Jenkins after Emma Stone – Warner Bros‘ fave for the role – passed.
Wiig would play Cheetah, a villain who possesses superhuman speed, reaction time, strength and durability, with impossibly sharp fangs and claws. In short, she literally resembles a cheetah. (Earlier versions of the character were simply a woman in a costume; later versions made her into a shape-shifting were-cheetah with powers bestowed by the plant god Urzkartaga.)

Jenkins is returning to write, direct and produce Wonder Woman 2 after securing an eight-figure fee (Variety reports that it’s in the “high range”).
Pretty excited for this casting, tbqh with you – but this would also have been excellent.
I very rarely participate in casting speculation or dream casting, but I’m just going to offer my two cents and say it would be AMAZING to see Kerry Washington as Cheetah in Wonder Woman 2.
