Your boy Karl Stefanovic had a bloody good morning today. On his usual post at the helm of the Today Show he casually filed away another one for the highlight reel, capitalising on a slight slip-of-the-tongue from fellow co-host Lisa Wilkinson with the kind of speed and accuracy that most seasoned comics could only ever dream about.
The men behind the Beard Season charity initiative – a hirsute pursuit in the name of raising awareness and funds for melanoma research – stopped by the show this morning to kickstart their campaign, which launches today.
With Wilko remarking on her family’s follicular feats, she declared that even she too could probably grow a beard to support, and that it was “in my genes.”
Spotting the homonym a mile away, Karlos pounced.
Cue: Tears of laughter.
