‘Making a Murderer‘ stans – you’re gonna wanna hear this.
The judge in Steven Avery‘s reopened case for the murder of journalist Teresa Halbach has now ordered urgent and independent re-testing for all the major evidence.
YES, including his blood sample. (BUT THE PIN PRICK IN THE LID OF BLOOD VIAL THOOOOOOOOO!)
Avery’s lawyer, Kathleen Zellner, reportedly requested this, and confirmed that an agreement to start the independent scientific testing on critical pieces of evidence had been signed.
Zellner has previously publicly pledged that she will overturn Avery‘s 2007 conviction for the rape and murder of Halbach.
The other person accused in the grisly murder case was Avery’s nephew, Brendan Dassey, whose immediate release was ordered by a judge last week, but blocked once again.
Oh god, we don’t mean to be reductive about a brutal murder, and the really serious legal case – but jfc, ‘Making a Murderer’ season 2 is going to be PHENOMENAL.
Hopefully, this independent testing should (fingers crossed) eliminate that pesky ‘the local police set him up‘ conspiracy that lays at the very foundation of this entire mind-fuckery of a case.
