Nickelodeon megastar JoJo Siwa has opened up about her decision to come out as part of the LGBTQI+ community, revealing that she has “the most amazing, wonderful, perfect, most beautiful girlfriend in the whole world.”

Appearing (via Zoom) on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon this week, a glittering JoJo said the outpouring of love and support she has received, particularly from the LGBTQI+ community, has been the “most insane thing ever.”

“Everyone and their brother messaged me, called me, texted me, sent me an Instagram message, tweeted me – it was the most love I think I’ve ever received,” JoJo said.

“The coolest thing about it was it was just by me showing the world the last little piece of me that they hadn’t seen yet, and it was really awesome.”

JoJo reflected on her decision to publicly come out, recalling the time last month when she created a bunch of TikToks with The Pride House, an LA-based collective of LGBTQI+ content creators.

“I’m like, ‘I think this TikTok is going to out me,” she recalled. “I was like, ‘I don’t really mind, it is true. I do have the most amazing, wonderful, perfect, most beautiful girlfriend in the whole world. It’s not something I’m ashamed of, I just haven’t shown the internet yet.”

After Pride House posted the TikToks, JoJo posted the now viral TikTok of herself dancing to Lady Gaga‘s Born This Way.

“I was on FaceTime with my girlfriend, this was the day after I posted the Born This Way TikTok, and I was on FaceTime with her and we were just talking about it, and talking about all the love that came in, and we were both like, ‘Technically, I still haven’t confirmed it.’”

So she posted a picture of herself wearing a shirt that read: ‘Best Gay Cousin Ever.’

Right before she sat down for the Fallon interview, JoJo said she had been on the phone to her girlfriend crying.

“She’s like, ‘What’s wrong with you?’ I’m like, ‘I’m just so happy because now I get to share what makes me the happiest with the world, and it makes my heart so happy,’” she said.

“Even if there’s a million people that don’t accept it, there’s a hundred million that do.”

JoJo also announced that she and Nickelodeon are working on a musical movie based on her life, titled The J-Team, featuring six original songs.
