James Franco, aka The Man Your Man Could Look Like continues down his path of alternative/indie domination with today’s announcement of his impending film adaptation of a Cormac McCarthy novel.
Child Of God is the third novel by McCarthy (of No Country For Old Men and The Road) fame, often cited as one of the greatest American novelists of the 20th century. Franco has apparently been pushing for this for years, having previously tried to direct a film version of the amazing Blood Meridian. The film looks set to star Luke Perry, Mark Pellegrino and Dave Franco aka Another Good-Looking Franco Brother Who Can Act.
Time will tell if the Brothers Franco can bring the same golden touch to the American master’s work as Javier Bardem did when he freaked us all out in No Country For Old Men, which slayed the box office and netted an Oscar or four.
We’ve got good odds on it being a hit.
