Triple J is counting down the Hottest 100 of 2020 as we speak, and as the old saying goes, you can’t please ’em all. While we’ve had a lot of quality tracks from local acts like Thelma Plum, Ocean Alley and G Flip, one punter is absolutely fuming that we’ve heard nothing yet from wholesome king Guy Sebastian. It’s frankly un-Australian.
The punter in question is a beautiful soul named Hannah, and while it could just be a gag bit, out of the goodness of my heart, I’m going to assume her Sebastian Stanning is 100% sincere. Hannah has been all up in the Triple J Facebook page throughout the Hottest 100, making some bold calls on potential Guy placements:
“Prediction (Guy Sebastian only ofc) 1. Battlescars 2. Who’s that girl 3. Love on display 4. Choir”
When The Chats snagged the #82 spot with The Clap, Hannah was ropeable, saying:
“Another scar for Guy Sebastian I guess”
She became increasingly upset as the countdown continued:
“Surely Scomo could get Guy Sebastian on the hottest 100? Do this one good thing mate”
“Guy Sebastian for prime minister? Qualifications is a hottest 100 position, make it happen triple j”
“Covid? More like Guy Sebastian number 1 hottest 100, super infectious I hear
Ringing the police, I just can’t let Guy Sebastian be treated like this”
Other punters also threw their support behind old mate:
While it remains to be seen whether angels will bring Guy to the Hottest 100, Hannah is not giving up hope. A short while ago, she wrote:
“Guy Sebastian if you read this I have to go but I’ll be back to supporting you through this tough time later love you mate”
Our full support is behind our sweet boy, too, so I guess we’ll wait and see how this one shakes out.
