This Grandpa’s Reaction To Getting Lady Gaga Tickets Is So Damn Wholesome

Lady Gaga

That’s right my friends, it’s wholesome Sunday content time. In this week’s edition the internet has blessed us with a grandpa’s delightful reaction to Lady Gaga tickets and it’s so precious, it might just take the sting off the approaching Monday morning.

Going by the handle of @boybehindbricks, Twitter user Whit introduced the world to her Grandpa Jim – a big, big Lady Gaga fan. She explained the family had planned to buy tickets for Gaga’s October Enigma show for her 21st birthday but unfortunately, the only tickets available were out of their budget. When Gaga unleashed a fresh batch of tickets for 2020, Grandma immediately jumped on the opportunity because Grandpa “was sad we couldn’t go.”

You can’t blame him, Gaga’s long-term Las Vegas residency looks out of this world. We’re talking ginormous robots, aerial performances, incredibly set design and costumes.

“My grandpa is literally a mid-western Catholic man but Lady Gaga literally is his favourite person,” Whit wrote.

In the video, Grandpa Jim is asked if he’s got anything pencilled in for May 7, 2020. He – in Grandpa Joke fashion – said he’s booked all day but he might be free in the evening. Classic.

“I think I’m open,” he later added.

“Would you like to go to a concert, maybe?” Grandma, we’re assuming, asked. “Maybe in Las Vegas…?”

WHEN HE SAID: “Gaga!?”

After going completely and utterly viral on the internet, Grandpa Jim thanked Whit for making him an “internet sensation” and said his “biggest joy will be sharing the Gaga experience with you and Grandma. Love you Whit.”

TOO PURE.

In some Gaga related news, the Academy Award-winning artist surprised crowds at Pride Live‘s Stonewall Day Concert on Friday to deliver an impassioned speech to help celebrate 50 years since the Stonewall Uprising.

“I am so emotional today,” she said. “This community has fought and continued to fight a war of acceptance, a war of tolerance, and the most relentless bravery. You are the definition of courage, you know that? I  feel so honoured and privileged to even be asked to be here. I feel that privilege and that honour because today, what it truly is, is a celebration of all of you in every single way.”

She concluded: “True love is when you would take a bullet for someone. And you know that I would take a bullet for you any day of the week.”

Other high-profiled speakers at the event included RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Bob the Drag Queen, Alicia Keys, Conchita Wurst, Chelsea Clinton, and Donatella Versace.
