Upon watching the trailer for “Gigantic” starring the ubiquitous Zooey Deschanel and Paul Dano of There Will Be Blood and Little Miss Sunshine fame one can’t help but think. How many indie/quirky/romantic films can Zooey Deschanel star in over a twelve month period?

By casting weedy Joseph Gordon-Levitt and the odd-looking Paul Dano as male leads opposite Deschanel – the filmmakers give hope to geeks everywhere (including myself) that sometimes the nerd can get the girl. Oh wait, Ben Gibbard totally proved that in real life.
