Erykah Badu Maintains ‘Queen’ Status, Bestows Deep Burn On Iggy Azalea

While R&B/soul icon Erykah Badu doesn’t often make it into the media for bitchiness and drama, her status as a queen has never been disputed. 

However, she figured just to be safe, she’d add in a fair shake of the shade bottle. And who better than Iggy Azalea? No one, obvi. 

Early today, Badu hosted the Soul Train Awards in Las Vegas. As a part of her opening monologue, she pretended to call up celebrities to invite them to the ceremony. When she got to Igloo Australia, she laid down a burn so burny that we could feel it all the way down here in Sydney:

“Uh yes? Who is this? Iggy Azalea? Yeah, hey. Oh no no no no, you can come, ’cause what you doin’ is definitely not rap.”

Iggy’s no stranger to industry beef – you might remember when her management literally took her Twitter account away from her because she kept saying stupid offensive things, and also she was fighting with Azealia Banks a touch too much. 

There’s no responno from Iggz on this – sick – burn, but hooooly dooly – we’d be straight up lying to you if we said we aren’t devilishly waiting with glee.
