But it’s when they’re rudely interrupted while trying to get some private time, that’s when the real winning efforts shine through. After popping into a restaurant to grab some chow, a group of photographers – seemingly roused from their slumber in nearby trash cans – caught wind of their presence and staked out the place waiting for a chance to reel off a few snaps of the two regular human beings. Always managing to think one step ahead of them, however, Stone and Garfield used the unwanted attention to their advantage by whipping up a genuinely lovely little message in the form of cards they held up, pointing to some organisations they thought were much more deserving of the attention.
For the sake of posterity, the notes read as follows:
“Good morning! We were eating and saw a group of guys with cameras outside. And so we thought, let’s try this again. We don’t need the attention, but these wonderful organisations do:
