A few weeks back, our little hearts broke when we learned that the seemingly unbreakable bond between buds Drake Bell and Josh Peck, of Drake & Josh fame, had been torn asunder.
Peck married his long-time girlfriend Paige O’Brien in Malibu, but didn’t invite his former co-star, in a snub that reverberated around the internet and left fans of 2000s-era teen shows positively shook.
“When you’re not invited to the wedding, the message is clear,” Bell wrote in a now-deleted Tweet. “True colours have come out today …Loyalty is key … ALWAYS remember where you came from.”
In a recent interview with People, Bell spoke out for the first time since the snub, and though he tried to play it cool, telling the publication “there are no hard feelings”, our little hearts are breaking all over again.
When asked how he views their friendship currently, Bell said: “He’s been my best friend for 18 years. In all honesty, we talk all the time, we’ve been talking. I was just expecting …” He didn’t finish that sentence, and can we just say, DAMN.
Bell continued by saying he didn’t anticipate that the story to go viral, and is disappointed that so many people online tried to attack his bud after the fact, telling the publication:
“That was a shock. I didn’t think it would be that big of a deal. I did not realise that it was going to have such a viral affect … That’s my bro you know? It’s kind of one of those things were you’re fighting with him on the playground, but if someone else says something, you’re like – ‘Hey, I can say that but you can’t!’”
While all this has been happening, Peck has been spending a lot of time hanging out with his Grandfathered co-star John Stamos, who is being kind of a dick about it, posting things like this on Instagram:
This will not end well. Hug me, brotha.
