After Hollywood heavyweight Kevin Spacey was accused by Star Trek: Discovery actor Anthony Rapp of making a sexual advance on him when he was just 14 years old, a slew of ‘jokes’ about his alleged behaviour has resurfaced.
While Family Guy‘s 2004 Spacey name-drop has perhaps received the most scrutiny, a fan of sitcom Difficult People has compiled the show’s snarky jabs at the actor. And, Christ, the show contains are many, many thinly veiled references to the actor’s rumoured actions.
Twitter fan account @difficultpsycho has compiled what they believe to be every mention of Kevin Spacey’s alleged preference for younger male partners, uttered by stars Julie Klausner and Billy Eichner:

FWIW, Eichner – himself a gay man – has been particularly vocal online about Spacey’s response to Rapp’s allegation, particularly the manner in which it appeared to conflate homosexuality with paedophilia.
But honestly I hesitate to make jokes because the Spacey statement is truly disgusting, irresponsible and dangerous. Ok goodnight!

Streaming platform Hulu is yet to announce if Difficult People will be renewed for its fourth season, but the show’s eerie recognition of the allegations made against Spacey may just boost awareness of the well-received comedy.
