Demi Lovato To Star In Will Ferrell’s ‘Eurovision’, So Thank Fuck She Went To Camp Rock

Remember that cooked Eurovision movie that Will Ferrell is making? Well, Demi Lovato just got added to the cast, so make of that what you will.

The 27-year-old is back after a long acting hiatus and is dusting off the boots to be a part of what I can only assume is the singing equivalent of Blades of Glory.

She took to Instagram on Tuesday to announce the news with costar Will Ferrell by her side.

“Y’all, Will Ferrell made me a cake…from scratch,” Lovato captioned the post. “It looks completely professional and store bought so I’m not at all suspicious that he baked it himself in all of his free time.”

Because what’s more Will Ferrell than asking someone to be in your movie by baking them a cake?

We already know a fair bit about Netflix’s Eurovision movie, but that doesn’t make me any less confused.

Eurovision follows the story of Lars and Sigrit, aspiring Icelandic singers who are given the opportunity to represent the country at the Eurovision Song Contest.

So far, we’ve got Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams playing partners in the competition, and Pierce Brosnan playing Will’s dad. Demi will star as Katiana, one of Iceland’s greatest and most angelic singers.

As someone who has watched more than one movie in my lifetime, I’m going to pretty safely assume that Katiana is either going to be a love interest or cause some serious BEEF with Lars and/or Sigrit in the film.

Eurovision is Demi’s first live action film appearance since Camp Rock 2: Final Jam back in 2010. Honestly, if all else fails and the movie is shit at least we can re-watch Camp Rock for the rest of eternity.

This is real. This is me. I’m an angelic Icelandic singer.

It’s been a rough couple of years for Demi, but hopefully this new movie sparks a new beginning for her as an actor. *Hint hint* Camp Rock 3 *hint hint*.
