Danny Masterson Of ‘That 70s Show’ Investigated For Sexual Assault

Police in Los Angeles have confirmed that Danny Masterson, the former star of That 70s Show, is under investigation for three alleged incidences of sexual assault, dating back a number of years.

The LAPD released a statement to media on Friday, confirming the investigation, and saying that “three women have come forward and disclosed that they were sexually assaulted by Masterson during the early 2000s.”
No charges have been filed against Masterson at this time, but per reports in Reuters, representatives for the 40-year-old actor labelled the accusations as “false” in a statement to the press.
His reps acknowledged that they are “aware” of the allegations, which date back 16 years, saying of one accuser:
“The alleged incident occurred in the middle of their six-year relationship, after which she continued to be his (Masterson’s) longtime girlfriend.”
Addressing a different allegation, dating back 14 years, Masterson’s reps claimed that police interviewed “numerous witnesses” at the time and found it to have “no merit.”
Masterson is a practising Scientologist, and it has been alleged that his accusers came forward after viewing ex-Scientologist Leah Remini‘s documentary about the religious group.
Journalist Tony Ortega, who writes exclusively about Scientology, says that Remini became personally involved with a number of the victims, and encouraged them to come forward with their complaints against Masterson.
