Conspiracy Theories Abound Over GOT Star’s Appearance At Wimbledon

Today’s fodder for the internet and/or the Game of Thrones fandom—who don’t know what to do with themselves, following the end of GOT season five, and a new book barely on the horizon—comes courtesy of an extremely innocuous thing.

Not about what HBO, George R R Martin or any of the show’s cast have done, but what one hasn’t done.

Put simply, Kit Harrington hasn’t had a haircut or shaved his Jon Snow beard – as spotted in the audience at Wimbledon yesterday.

Which begs the question: must all men die?

Can haircuts melt steel beams? We just don’t know.

Adding fuel to conspiracy theorists’ fire this week came from Emilia Clarke, who suggested that Jon Snow’s return to Game Of Thrones wasn’t clear – Clarke believes there’s a “50/50 chance” on his renaissance.

The haircut rumour mill isn’t, as it turns out, without precedent. In January this year, some fans twigged on Snow’s fate – after he appeared with short hair.

Last month, however, Kit Harrington spoke with Entertainment Weekly, handing down a fairly damning conclusion on the is-he-or-isn’t-he debate. “I’ve been told I’m dead,” Harrington said, “I’m dead. I’m not coming back next season.”
