Having worked previously with David Lynch, Italian luxury giant Gucci have a history of enlisting big name Directors to produce their fragrance advertising. The latest auteur to lend their expertise is English Music Video Director Chris Cunningham whose show reel includes Aphex Twin’s “Come To Daddy” and “Windowlicker”.
The advertisement for Gucci Flora (shown below) was shot in Latvia over four days and features Australian world beater Abbey Lee Kershaw as an other worldly floral magician. The ad also features an alternate version of Donna Summer and Giorgio Moroder’s disco hit “I Feel Love” produced and re-recorded by Cunningham himself. Diaphanous, cinematic, ethereal and just plain stunning but what else would you expect from the man behind Bjork’s “All Is Full Of Love” clip.
