Buffy Creator Joss Whedon To Tour Oz

Long before Robert Pattinson sprouted fangs and started sucking, there lived a hardcore nerd and high-ruling deity of fanfiction.com named Joss Whedon who brought vampires, wooden stakes and ass-kicking cheerleaders into mainstream popular culture through Buffy The Vampire Slayer. I’m not ashamed to admit I loved Buffy (I am however slightly ashamed to admit I also loved Angel) and Whedon’s extensive CV, which includes authoring a comic book miniseries, an Academy Award nod as Toy Story screenwriter, and creator of musical internet sensation Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog staring Neil Patrick Harris, are among many other geek-related reasons to be excited that Joss Whedon is coming to Australia to perform live!

Exactly what Joss Whedon: Live In Concert will entail I’m not sure, but the press release says:

Joss will talk about his ongoing love affair with popular culture, storytelling and the common themes in his work including strong women characters, outsider heroes and the uses and abuses of power. He will discuss the creative ways in which he has played these themes out in a variety of media forms: from the forthcoming film adaption of Marvel Comics The Avengers (which Joss is both writing and directing) to his work on Toy Story and in TV series from Buffy through Firefly to Glee, and across a vast range of comics.
