HUGE: The Bridgerton Creator Wants To Give Us Eight Full Seasons Of Ye Olde Gossip Girl

bridgerton eight seasons

Bridgerton fans can kick back and get ready for years more where that came from because the show’s creator has confirmed that he’s keen to produce eight seasons of the hit series.

In less than a month, the show has already been watched by 63 million households worldwide, and thankfully, creator Chris Van Dusen isn’t about to rip our beloved Ye Olde Gossip Girl away from us any time soon.

The show is based on Julia Quinn’s The Duke And I novels, and with eight novels from which to draw inspiration, Van Dusen has no shortage of ideas that will see the show (hopefully) continue on Netflix.

“I feel like the first season was primarily about Daphne and her love story with Simon,” he told Collider.

“But, this being a family of eight children and there being eight books, I would love to be able to focus and really tell stories and love stories for all the Bridgerton siblings. For each character, for sure.”

Honestly, a whole season on each of the characters would be a dream come true.

“I would love that. In success, I would love that,” Van Dusen added.

However, if you’ve read the first book, you’d know that Van Dusen took some creative liberty with the TV adaptation, which means that you can easily binge-read the whole series while we wait for more seasons to be announced, and you probably won’t ruin it for yourself.

But it is worth noting that the series doesn’t exactly line up with the words on the page, with one of the biggest moments in the season one finale not actually happening until the fourth book in the series.

I guess all that’s left to do is sit, wait and hope that Netflix doesn’t axe it like they did with other hit shows like GLOW (I’m not crying, YOU’RE CRYING).
