All-Time Drum Greats Dave Grohl & Animal Finally Duel In ‘Muppets’ Battle

You can keep your Kermit & Miss Piggy drama, because the realest beef behind the scenes of The Muppets has finally come to a (drum)head.

Ba-dum, tish.

Animal and Animal-incarnate Dave Grohl’s long-standing stoush kicked on last night after Nirvana’s stickman – the usurper! – took to the stool as ‘Animool’ in 2011’s The Muppets film. The two haven’t had a chance to settle the score until now.

This isn’t even the first time Animal has had to prove his worth against his human percussion counterparts. The gnarliest Muppet has a rock-solid drum-battle pedigree, including facing off against the actual, no-shit best drummer of all time Buddy Rich. If only we got to see Gonzo vs. Bonzo.

Forget the technicalities, like whether or not Animal even has legs long enough to reach the pedals – or if he has legs at all, actually – and get stoked on the fact that this is an actual thing that continues to happen.

Of course, like all nuclear escalations, the only result is mutually-assured destruction. Get beat below:
