Have you ever wondered what the home life of Prime Minister Julia Gillard and partner Tim Mathieson is like behind closed doors? If you share our not-completely-okay voyeuristic fascination, you too will be intrigued by the pending ABC comedy series At Home With Julia which begins production in Sydney this week.
The four-part series stars the fabulous Amanda Bishop (wearing the requisite sensible-red-bob hairpiece) as the Prime Minister, and Phil Lloyd as the man with whom she lives in sin.
At Home With Julia has been described as “part rom-com, part guaranteed lawsuit” and the ABC’s head of comedy Debbie Lee told the IF Website, “We’ve long been concerned about generous Government funding for the ABC. Hopefully At Home With Julia will put a stop to that.”
Isn’t it amazing that we live in a country where you can produce and broadcast a piss take of the Prime Minister while that person is still the head of the government at large.
