ABC Readies Nation’s Largest Game of Pub Trivia

Described as a comedy, pop-culture quiz show and test of your Merrick Watts tolerance, trivia show Tractor Monkeys celebrates its series premiere on ABC1 tomorrow night with the launch of an innovative new interactive component said to revolutionise the way people cheat at pub trivia.

The show, hosted by Watts with a revolving cast of players and regular team captains in comedian Dave O’Neil and radio announcer Monty Dimond, has launched an adjoining free iPad app enabling viewers to play along at home and compete in a nation-wide game of pub trivia, upping the show’s audience participation/competition levels with the year end winner taking home the inaugural Tractor Monkey Quiz King mantle represented by “a very special unique trophy”.

“Viewers playing at home will be asked the same questions on their IPad that panelist are being asked on the TV and will compete to answer the questions,” ABC TV Multiplatform Controller Arul Baskaran said. “Forget the Pub Trivia, this is Interactivity Quiz show heaven!”

“This TV experience is so much more richer and interactive. It is exciting as viewers become more engaged with the content,” added Senior producer for ABC TV Multiplaform Gary Hayes. “They become part of the conversation via social networking and over the eight-week season, they can hopefully increase their score and either move up or down the Tractor Monkey scoreboard.”

As with your local, the use of smartphones is strictly prohibited and instantly punishable by death. We’re looking at you Shady McWeakBladder who went to the bathroom like five times in thirty minutes and somehow knew the birth year of Abel Tasman.

C’mon bro.

Tractor Monkeys airs Wednesday nights at 8:30pm on ABC1.
