KFC In The UK Has Literally Run Out Of Chicken To Kentucky Fry

A dark day if you’re in the United Kingdom and also happen to be thirsty for fried chook. KFC has temporarily closed two thirds of its stores in the country over a chicken shortage. Kentucky Fried Chicken, purveyors of chicken, do not have any chicken.

The chain has about 900 restaurants in the UK, and only 300 of those were open on Monday morning.

Though KFC would not confirm what exactly had caused this supply shortage, speculation focused on some manner of cock-up involving delivery provider DHL. A spokesperson for DHL confirmed that there had been “operational issues”:

Due to operational issues a number of deliveries in recent days have been incomplete or delayed. We are working with KFC and our partners to rectify the situation as a priority and apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.

That being said, folks. There’s (literal) bucketloads of great fried chicken in London at the very least. I’m sure it will tide you poms and pom-adjacent types until this dreadful shortage has been sorted.
