FANCY: A Bombay Pop-Up Bar Is Coming To The NGV So Your Next Date Is Sorted

Let’s be honest, sometimes the regular date night of pizza and TV just doesn’t quite cut it when it comes to excitement and romance. Shaking things up a bit is necessary to get you and your love out of a rut, and feeling a bit more adventurous.

It’s a tricky balancing act, because you want to find a place that can be your new go-to date locale, but it’s gotta be somewhere that isn’t going to remain the same all the time. Somewhere that’ll stay exciting no matter what time of the year.

So really, you’ve gotta take both your preferences and your date’s preferences into account to choose the perfect date.

Uh, not quite.

Our vote? A lil’ cultural experience at the National Gallery of Victoria in Southbank, Victoria. Not only will the exhibitions and installations change on the reg, but you can also have a couple of bevvies there too and something pretty damn special is coming this December to set your Christmas date game on fire.

All-time gin icon Bombay Sapphire is hosting a pop-up bar at the NGV from the 7th of December all the way through to the 5th of April, every Friday night from 6pm to 10pm.

It’s the perf date night beverage – want proof? Picture this: you’ve just finished up roaming around the gallery arm in arm, and now you’re in the garden holding a glass of Bombay as you sip and canoodle. So much canoodling. Really sets the mood.

A date romantic enough to rival these cuties.

For real though, the NGV is the oldest in Australia (and it’s the biggest boy too) and it’s chockers with cool installations and pieces that’ll keep the date conversation flowing (which is all v. important because awkward silences are a big no-no).

Plus they’ve got a series of hectic Friday nights planned over the next few months, so all you’ve gotta do is consult the handy guide and decide when to pop in for some culture, cocktails and conversation.

As for the pop-up bar, it’s going to be a fiesta of Bombay Sapphire gin, which is possibly the best five word arrangement in the English language. You’ll be able to indulge after your cultural escapades and your date will be utterly impressed at how you’ve taken the initiative to shake up date night.

Cheers to that.

Coz let’s be honest, there’s nothing more frustrating than hearing, “I don’t know, what do YOU feel like doing?”
