A Netflix feature that allows users to suggest up to three titles to be added to the platform has caught the Twitter community completely off guard this week.
While the Title Request page has been around for a long bloody time, it turns out not many people actually knew about its existence. “Have a TV show or movie you’d like to see on Netflix? Tell us about it below,” the page reads. “This form is the one and only place to submit content requests.”
The site also contains a link that explains why movies and TV shows are taken off the platform, which, as you probably already guessed, is mostly to do with obscure licensing agreements. The most obvious example for us here in Australia is the agreement Foxtel has with Game of Thrones creator, HBO, which dictates that the series can’t appear on Netflix locally.
The feature was pointed out by comedian and Brooklyn Nine-Nine star, Chelsea Peretti, after a Netflix user in the Philippines complained about the platform’s lack of Peretti’s stand-up special, One of the Greats. The Netflix Philippines Twitter account responded with the feature link accompanied with, “You know the drill”.

Peretti, just as confused as everyone else, retweeted the response, sending it viral.

It wasn’t long before other users questioned why they’d never heard about Title Request, either.

So there you have it, folks. If you were unaware of the best way to ask Netflix to promptly pull its head in and include your favourite movie or TV show, well, now you know.
