Mischa Barton, best known for her role as Marissa Cooper on The OC and then literally nothing else for a decade, has just thrown a career Hail Mary and agreed to appear on next season’s Dancing With The Stars (US version.)
Also joining her are Fuller House‘s Jodie Sweetin – a stratospheric career leap, imo – and America’s Next Top Model winner Nyle DiMarco, who’s doing good things for accessibility and the deaf community but not, a quick Facebook stalk tells me, a whole lot of modelling.
This will be the first time we’ve had access to weekly Mischa since 2006. Her actual talent for dancing is an unknown quality at this point, but if the judges are looking for someone with the ability to express emotion entirely through their collarbones or to throw lawn furniture in their pool, then Mischa’s their gal.
She’s on a rocket to (re) stardom, folks. Strap in.
