Cat Power is the first act announced for next year’s Golden Plains Festival happening at the Meredith Supernatural Amphitheatre March 9-11, 2013. Chan Marshall, 40, rumoured previously for Laneway and fresh from the release of her ninth studio album, Sun, will blood an all new live band at sunset on the Sunday in a performance which we really hope involves some kind of animal sacrifice or crystal ceremony. The full lineup will be revealed later this month. In the meantime – for those who appreciate “BYO, no commercial sponsors, the No Dickheads rule, and a One Stage Policy” – the Subscriber Ticket Ballot is now open.
