There’s not been a whole lot to celebrate for progressives in this election, but here’s something: it very much does not look like Fraser Anning is winning a Senate seat.

The Conservative National Party is tracking well under a single quota in Queensland, where the party is strongest. So Anning is gone.
But 52,000 people still gave him their first preference. That is, quite frankly, horrific to contemplate.
Nonetheless, we can take a tiny bit of solace in his loss – eat dirt, ya fuck.
