Guide to shopping, eating and living like a local in New York with Nicole Trunfio

After being shot right on into our eyeballs, upon winning Search for a Supermodel, Nicole Trunfio has since gone from fashun-strength to fashun-strength. If there’s anyone you’re going to take advice from, on where to shop, it may as well be someone who has worked for some of the most impressive fashion names in the world. This is a gal who once dropped $13,000 in one day at The Webster in Miami, has a pair of green Balenciaga pants that no-one else on the East Coast owns and is proper in love with Nolita for its New York City born and raised Designers.

Pedestrian recently had the pleasure of talking to Nicole – who has been busy livin’ la vida loca in New York, launching her new jewellery line and releasing an EP with her band Henry Blac. She kindly gave us the insider tips on where to eat, where to shop and how to Trunfio-it-up in NYC.

Nicole says: I love Momo Sushi in Brooklyn. It’s in Bushwick Brooklyn, kind of in the ghetto but it’s the best sushi I’ve ever had. It’s in a garage and…I shouldn’t be telling you guys this actually, because then it’s going to become crowded. It’s the shit though, they flick their fingers and tell you to eat it within two minutes or else it will go bad. It’s got a really cool vibe, they play great music and its super affordable. It’s in a good neighbourhood too, lots of young good looking people.

Nicole says: It’s this gangster old-school Chinese restaurant near Lincoln Centre. They have the best pork buns, the best pork ribs and the best everything really. It’s never packed but you see the most interesting, authentic, born and raised New York characters in there.
