Do you have the kind of mates who like to post embarrassing pictures of you on your birthday? Welp, now they’ll have unfettered access to your Facebook Stories on your special day, as well.

Launched today, the Birthday Stories feature will only be available when it’s your birthday and will let your friends and family add whatever they want to your Story instantly.
“Birthday stories is a new type of story where friends, family, and everyone in your community can add digital birthday cards, photos or videos to a story to celebrate your birthday,” Facebook said in a release.
“The result is a ‘happy birthday message’ that’s visual, memorable, interactive, and fun; it’s like getting a personalized birthday card from everyone you care about, no matter where they are in the world.”
If you have mates like mine, it could also be the most embarrassing thing that happens to you all day, but that’s neither here nor there, I guess. If you’d like to embarrass the everloving fuck out of your mate on their birthday, all you have to do is tap on the birthday notification when it pops up in the morning, then shoot or upload an existing photo or video for their story. That’s pretty much it.
I’d imagine there’ll be a way for you to remove anything unwanted from your story. You know, just in case someone posts a picture of their ass or something.
