Topshop Partners With Google For Epic World First Fashion Event

Ever wondered what the catwalk looks like through the eyes of Cara Delevigne? We have. Topshop‘s AW13 fashion show, taking place next week at London Fashion Week, will actually give you the chance to find out. Topshop and Google have partnered up to revolutionize the way we view the catwalk, turning audiences into fashion insiders through the web and presenting to us ‘The Future of the Fashion Show‘.

In a world-first move, HD micro cameras will be pre-stitched onto the bags and clothes of the models as they take part in the show, allowing viewers to see what’s it’s like to be a model with both unlimited behind-the-scenes access and on-stage vantage points. These live feeds will be accessible from Youtube’s Topshop TV channel which will also play host to a red-carpet feed which will see all the excitement when the celebrities and editors arrive.

Google’s own social network, Google+, will also be loading a digital diary of each of the four biggest models in the show – Cara Delevigne, Jourdan Dunn, Rosie Tapner and Ashleigh Good – to document the ‘Road to the Runway’ from their first fitting to the moment they hit the catwalk. This way we can pretend to be Cara with perfect accuracy, der. But we can also pretend to be a fashion buyer! What a myriad of choices. Topshop will be launching a ‘Be The Buyer’ App in which users can create their own inspiration boards using pieces straight from the runway to create their own looks.

This fashion show will be cutting edge in terms of the access it is giving to the public and it is more than likely we will see much more of this multi-platform techn-craziness woven into fashion shows in the future. The little teaser below will give you a better insight into how it will work exactly and the different ways you can get involved in all the action on Sunday February 17th at 3pm.
