From the fitted muscle shirts sported by James Dean circa “Rebel Without A Cause” to the XXXL variety on the backs of Larry Clark’s “Kids” the perfect white tee is a sartorial staple that despite its modesty stands on par with your favourite pair of jeans.
With that in mind Topshop’s male counterpart Topman have commissioned eight reinterpretations of the humble white tee from the likes of Richard Chai, Phillip Lim, Christopher Shannon, Juun J, JW Anderson, Henry Holland and Topman’s in-house design team. From bold monochromatic prints and oversized pockets to front pleats, asymmetrical patchwork and scooped backs the below images prove that the plain white tee may just be a thing of the past.
