This MBFWA Show Was A Solid Case For Diversity In The Fashion Industry

MBFWA always has its show-stopper moments – whether its a star appearance on the runway a la Bella Hadid for Misha Collection in 2016, or that time Ksubi released rats before its models walked way back in 2001. Yep, actual rats.

This year, Thomas Puttick has made a play for best moment of MBFWA ’17 – and we’re only on Day 2. In a show of brilliant diversity, the brand decided to walk ‘muses’ down the runway alongside models. It was basically that time Carrie walked at NYFW in Sex and the City, except less falling over.
You’ll prob recognise some of the names – there’s Yvonne Tozzi, mum of Aussie models Cheyenne and Tahyna.
Dr. Anne Aly, Federal Member of Parliament.
Muso Sarsha Simone:
And the mega-inspiring Amina Conteh-Biger, founder of the Aminata Foundation and survivor of the war in Sierra Leone. Former refugee Amina was led by her experiences to form a women’s sexual health charity.
Other muses included Interior Designer Dina Broadhurst, Creative Director Nadine Bush and actor Abby Earl. We’re just super pumped to see a designer embrace babe’n ladies of all ages, backgrounds, and life experiences – more of this please, fashion world.
