North Melbourne Coach Brad Scott Out For Four Matches Due To Back Surgery

The North Melbourne Football Club will be under the match-day guidance of a caretaker coach for the next month, with senior coach Brad Scott set to miss four weeks due to back surgery.

The issue is one that’s reportedly been plaguing Scott for some time now, but in the past two weeks has worsened to a point where surgery has become the only remaining option.
Scott will undergo the operation and sit out all coaching duties for one week, before returning in a supervisory role. Match day duties will be handled by current Roos midfield coach Darren Crocker until Scott is ready to return to his post full-time.
North’s director of football Geoff Walsh stated this morning that “The players were quite concerned for their coach when we told them this morning.
The news comes a day after the Roos stunning capitulation to Collingwood, in which a 9 goal to nil third quarter saw the Magpies overhaul a 39 point half time lead to run out 17 point winners – an effort which Scott labelled as a “disgusting display.”
Scott will miss the Roos clashes with West Coast, Sydney, Greater Western Sydney, the squad’s bye week, and the Gold Coast, before he returns in Round 15 for their clash against Geelong – ironically the side coached by his twin brother Chris.
With any luck officials at Etihad Stadium will have closed the roof by then.
