Man Accused Of Flinders Street Incident Formally Charged With Murder

The man accused of mowing down pedestrians outside Melbourne’s Flinders Street Station in late December has had one of the charges levelled against him upgraded to murder.

32-year-old Saeed Noori had previously been charged with 18 counts of attempted murder in the wake of the rampage on December 21st.

Today, Victoria Police investigators formally upgraded one of those charges to murder, following the death of 83-year-old Antonios Crocaris last week. Crocaris passed away in hospital on December 29th as a result of injuries sustained in the incident.

Noori has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear in the Melbourne Magistrates Court on May 30th to hear charges against him read.

Three people are still recovering in hospital as a result of injuries sustained in the incident.

Noori is alleged to have driven a white 4WD into pedestrians near a tram stop on Flinders Street between Swanston and Elizabeth.
