Earthquake Hits Wanaka; New Zealanders Want You To Know They’re Totally Okay

A severe earthquake has hit New Zealand town of Wanaka late this morning. 

At 2:30pm local time, (11:30am AEST) locals felt severe movement under foot, and it is said that buildings in Queenstown and Wanaka were physically shaking. There were also two moderate aftershocks, registering at 3.4 and 3.5.
The earthquake registered on the scale at 5.8 on the Richter scale, which Geonet labelled as ‘unoticeable’. That didn’t stop a bunch of legend New Zealanders letting us know via Twitter that they were totally cool, and the only things that seem to have suffered were some jelly, and a lone bottle of cider at the pub:
