Christopher Pyne Has Been Bombarding Senators With Text Messages

It seems Education Minister Christopher Pyne has been burning holes in his thumbs lately. The man responsible for the ever-so-controversial Higher Education reforms is desperately trying to seek support for the budget measures in the Senate, where he needs votes from the cranky crossbench in order for them to pass. The numbers, so far at least, aren’t with him. But bless him, that hasn’t stopped him from trying.

Palmer United Party senator Glenn Lazarus has had enough, though. Already having a dog of a week after being hospitalised yesterday for kidney stones, Senator Lazarus’s phone has apparently been blowing up, with Pyne sending him a barrage of text messages urging him to support the measures.

I am being inundated with text messages from Christopher Pyne virtually begging me to support the Abbott government’s higher education reforms. I have never given Christopher Pyne my mobile phone number.

Christopher Pyne’s office and other Abbott government ministers are continuing to contact my office and other crossbenchers offering all sorts of deals and incentives to get our support for the higher education reforms. I won’t be bought and I am not prepared to horse trade.
Or, perhaps more succinctly, “Y r u so obsessed with me? lol
Lazarus isn’t lying either. Through the majesty of the internet, Pedestrian.tv has obtained exclusive access to the absolutely real, definitely genuine, totally not even at all made up for comedic purposes screenshots of the flood of text messages sent from Chris Pyne to Glenn Lazarus just this morning.
For the record, persistence in this particular case is definitely not a virtue. Lazarus and the Palmer United Party – along with independent senators Nick Xenophon and Jacqui Lambie will be voting against the proposed legislation.
Sux 2 b u, Chris.
