There’s so much good about Australia, from world class beaches to Warnie’s Tinder account.
But what we make up for in celebs that are ~just like us~ and Instagrams of Bondi Icebergs, we lack in geographical proximity to the rest of the world. This means that all too often, singers and bands put us in the ‘too-hard’ basket, and skip performing here altogether.
But not – we write in quivering anticipation – today. NOT today. Because today is the day that original bad girl of pop Madonna announces her first Australian tour in 23 years.
Madonna’s bringing her Rebel Heart tour here in March 2016. And by ‘here’, we mean Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane. Sorry SA / WA / NT / TAZ – she’s probably not swinging your way, but she WILL be gracing New Zealand shores for the first time ever.
Tickets go on sale 10am Monday July 6 through Ticketek, and are likely to produce headlines along the theme of “Madonna’s Tour Sold Out In Less Than A Nanosecond“, so make like Scar and get your shit together.
Tickets prices are yet to be released, but if you’ve got more cash than a Kardashian, you can score a VIP package that’s likely to be upwards of $1500, if US tour prices are anything to go by. Included is a seat in the front three rows, access to a pre-show party of Madonna’s greatest hits (played by a DJ), and use of the #VIP hashtag for one night only.
Bring on the cone bras, Madge. Our bodies are ready.
