Craig Ferguson To Leave “The Late Late Show”

Following the seismic chakra realignment of David Letterman’s Late Show retirement (then truthy succession plan), CBS’ late night musical chairs continues, the network today confirming the departure of longtime Late Show lead out, Craig Ferguson.

Perhaps the most irreverent late night personality of all time – besting even peak weird Conan O’Brien, because who the hell else would throw to an animatronic skeleton? – the Emmy nominated host held the post for almost a decade, his departure quickly following CBS’ decision to appoint The Real Stephen Colbert as Letterman’s Late Show successor.

“CBS and I are not getting divorced, we are ‘consciously uncoupling,’” Ferguson said in a statement, “But we will still spend holidays together and share custody of the fake horse and robot skeleton, both of whom we love very much.”

During his 10 years as host, Craig has elevated CBS to new creative and competitive heights at 12:30,” CBS Entertainment Chairman Nina Tassler said in a statement. “He infused the broadcast with tremendous energy, unique comedy, insightful interviews and some of the most heartfelt monologues seen on television.”

It was also weird as fuck.

So long fellas.
