Chloe Sevigny Sees Red In New Book For Opening Ceremony

Rangas. Carrot tops. Gingers. Or most crudely of all – blood nuts. Judging from the plethora of none to PC monikers for redheads, you’d think a mop of rouge hair was a curse instead of a charming genetic point of difference. Thankfully for those who possess red hair, Chloe Sevigny opts for the latter train of thought in Reds a new hardcover art book in support of her Opening Ceremony fashion line.

Opening Ceremony explains the publication thus: “Rather than document her collection with the standard, ephemeral lookbook, Chloë Sevigny decided to commemorate the debut of her new line with a limited edition, hardcover artbook that captures the designer’s singular point of view…The book began with one simple idea: red hair. Chloë felt redheads were the perfect models for her line of grey tweeds, animal print jacquards, Fair Isle knits, subtle dark plaids, pink flannels, and bright red wools.”

So if the universal awesomeness of Ziggy Stardust, Vivienne Westwood or Elmo doesn’t stir pride in your fiery follicles perhaps the below images of Sevigny-approved redheads will.

Red is slated for an August release and will be available for purchase through Opening Ceremony.
