What’s The Best Aussie Froth? We Asked Some Beer Stans For Their Thots And Feels

PEDESTRIAN.TV has partnered with BWS to find Australia’s fave local beer.

G’day mates, let’s talk about one of Australia’s favourite pastimes: cracking open a cold one. Look, there really is no greater joy in life than sitting back with a frothy and taking in the beautiful sights and sounds of our great land.

But with so many different types of good ol’ Aussie beer available, it can be hard to choose just one. I feel your pain.

That’s why we decided to ask everyday Aussie battlers (like you) to share their fave Aussie beer with us. Enjoy the journey.

“Carlton Draught. I yearn for the smooth and crisp Carltie. I longed for it overseas. Also this [referring to the gif above] reminded me that when I was travelling, someone bought me a large Foster’s can and I threw it skyward onto scaffolding where it exploded — the single positive use of a Foster’s can.”

Cam, 37

“Boag’s XXX Ale — The beloved Red. Tasmania’s best-kept secret. Never (or rarely) exported off the island. A Locals Only drop that tastes like the sharp cold air of a July morning in Triabunna.

Tori, 25

“Resch’s Pilsener is objectively the best beer out there, I don’t want any of that fruity tooty craft stuff give me the old man’s beer.”

James, 35

“VB: crisp, cheap, and throws down smoother than Kerser.”

Asha, 34

“Grifter Serpents Kiss (watermelon pilsner).

Lachlan, 25

“A Young Henry’s Newtowner. So crisp and not so yeasty.”

Mateus, 27

“Young Henry’s did a limited run of something they called the Doubletowner which I have not seen in years and desperately want back.”

Amy, 32

“Mountain Culture Status Quo. Won GABS top 100 for a reason.”

Charlotte, 25

“I cannot stand most beers but as a WA girlie, I love Gage Roads Single Fin and am so happy it’s become easier to get over here in the last few years.”

Ally, 30

“Wayward raspberry Berliner Weisse, because if it isn’t singeing my tastebuds then I don’t want it.”

Matt, (age withheld)

“Melbourne Bitter in the ’90s was a hella drop. It just had a moment when it was this mythical beer beast (in Sydney at least). I think because it was like drinking a more exclusive VB.”

There you have it folks, a proper charcuterie board of Aussie beer opinions that will no doubt divide. See ya in the beer aisle
