If you’re not familiar, Kangaroo Island is basically all the best bits of Australia rolled into one.
You’ve got whiter-than-white beaches.
Rugged coastlines.
Stunning sunsets.
And the cutest inhabitants we ever did see, from sea lions and koalas to echidnas and wallabies.
It used to be a bit of a bitch (not to mention exxy) to access KI – which lies off the mainland of South Australia, southwest of Adelaide – but Qantas has gone and announced it’s resuming direct flights after a 12 year hiatus.
Yup, the flying Kangaroo will offer flights straight from Melbourne and Adelaide as of December, running between three to five times a week during summer.
SA Premier Jay Weatherill announced the news earlier today, with a little help from one of KI’s natives.
