“Sunrise magic at Emu Bay. Not a soul in sight… just the soft sand, the lull of the waves, the rising sun and me. That sunrise will stay with me forever. It was that special!” . And the cutest inhabitants we ever did see, from sea lions and koalas to echidnas and wallabies.
If this little cutie doesn’t melt your heart, we don’t know what will! . This baby fur seal was spotted on a remote west end beach off Kangaroo Island, waiting patiently for mumma to return from her fishing trip . The best place on the Island to witness a colony of Long-nosed Fur Seals in their natural habitat is at beautiful Admirals Arch in the Flinders Chase National Park. This time of year is our favourite, with all the playful pups frolicking on the rocks! . Human, you shall not pass ?????? . Road rules are a little different over here on Kangaroo Island. We don’t have toll roads or even traffic lights… but our local wildlife sure know how to stop traffic! ????. . If you happen to see an oncoming motorist raising a finger as they pass by, it’s likely to be a friendly gesture of acknowledgement… but don’t be lulled into a false sense of security thinking there’s noone else around. Be sure to pull off to the side of the road, if an unexpected photo opportunity like this one crops up. During winter, you’re more likely to see our wildlife roaming about during the day time, so keep your eyes peeled ?? and your camera fully charged …you never know who you might meet! .
