You Can Now Rack Up Frequent Flyer Pts By Grabbing An Uber To Aus Airports

Frequent flyer point schemes are mostly great for rich peeps to ultimately get free flights and upgrades that they could probs afford anyway, or, as in my case, great for getting a free fucking toaster after ten years of the odd flight here or there.

Something a lot of us do much more than fly often with the big boy airlines that offer FF points (cheapie Tigerair flights for lyf bitches!), is catch an Uber to the airport, and now it’s looking like you can rack up some sweet frequies by doing just that.

Announced today, the new partnership between Uber and Qantas will see Frequent Flyer members able to earn points when heading to eligible airports and when booked via the newly updated Qantas app.

Thankfully it looks like it doesn’t matter if you’re actually flying with Qantas or not when you grab an Ubes to the airport, only that you use their app to book it.

The points will rack up as follows:

  • Gold, Platinum, Platinum One and Chairmans Lounge members: 3 points per $1
  • Silver members: 2 points per $1
  • Bronze members: 1 point per $1

Also if you’re not already an Uber user (lol who tho?) and sign up via the Qantas app, you’ll cop 2000 points straight off the bat.

Yeewin!

All the capital city airports are on the list of eligible routes (except Darwin, soz) as well as Newcastle, Cairns, Goldy and Byron Bay. It all kicks off from this Friday, November 3 and you grab the full list and deets here.

That shiny new toaster will be mine any fucking day now.
