Ah, Bali. The “local” destination that never gets old – and even when hundreds on our Instagrams seem to be flocking to Japan, Europe, and New Zealand, there’s a still a fair few skipping off to Bali for some Eat, Pray, and Loving. So, if you’re feeling keen for a little gals/lads holiday may I interest you in ~ Flores ~.

According to Google maps, Flores is about 32 hours from the mainland of Denpasar, Bali – an island right off Komodo Island.There’s a lot of driving and then a ferry involved but the end result makes it look extremely worth it. Flores is quietly making a name for itself for its literal blushing pink beach. This natural wonder isn’t just the only beauty to cleanse your soul because Flores is an island with a landscape straight out of Jurassic Park.
Just to name a few, Flores is known for their Kelimutu National Park which houses a volcano and three very intensely coloured crater lakes, the Komodo National Park where you can witness the almighty strength of a Komodo Dragon, and Wae Rebo village.

It’s hard to pick out just what to look at right now but because pastels are all the rage, let’s settle on Pink Beach.

According to Flores Tourism, there’s eight wonders on the island for you to explore. There are also a heap of activities to do like snorkelling, diving, kayaking, canyoning, cycling, mountain biking, and self-guided/guided hikes and treks. In other words, this place sounds sick and very much a win-win if you’re looking for a relaxing but adventurous holiday.
