Hot London Hang Outs Curated By River Island’s Arieta Mujay

Australian’s love British High Street retailer River Island so much so that in June the brand launched a site specifically for the Australian market and our seasons: au.riverisland.com.au. River Island was aso hand-selected by emerging farshon mogul Rihanna to design her debut street wear collection, launched at London Fashion Week. London was the appropriate choice, considering it’s the home base for the brand and home to some of the most interesting and innovative street fashion in the world. We caught up with River Island’s PR Manager Arieta Mujay, proper cool super babe, who gave us her Mini Guide London: Top 5 places to visit for any fashionista or nisto.

GINGERLINE
Gingerline is a clandestine dining experience operating in secret and changing locations along the East London Overground. It began as a for-the-love experiment with talented friends to create the ultimate night out – fusing great food and clever design with a bit of art and adventure. It’s an adventurous, imaginitive form of dining and ONE OFF experience. Only those in the ‘know’ know about Gingerline as its still relatively unknown, so hurry up and do this before the cat gets out the bag and its no longer so exclusive!

A few simple steps to ensure you have an amazing night of performance-cum-meal at Gingerline:
1. Book either online or ring up (or the details you need can be found through the website)
2. Follow the instructions and directions given by Gingerline
3. You arrive at your mystery Gingerline location
4. You feast (four or more courses of foodie’s delight!)
5. Enjoy the performance

MAD HATTERS TEA PARTY AT THE SANDERSON The Sanderson Hotel in London is a legendary creative industry hangout but my favourite time to visit is not for a power lunch or post work drinks, but for the Mad Hatters afternoon tea party. This new incarnation of our Afternoon Tea, highlights the Sanderson hotel’s collaboration with design collective Luna & Curious, who crafted bespoke crockery for the service. Menus are hidden inside vintage books, and napkins wrapped with riddles, while teapots adorned with kings and queens and sandwich plates featuring zebras, birdcages, carousels and ticking clocks play host to wondrous fare. Dainty sandwiches on homemade bread including the smoked Cumbrian ham with wholegrain mustard on sun dried tomatoes and, if you have a booze itch to scratch there’s a deliciously refreshing pear and elderflower bellini that comes with Laurent-Perrier champagne. YUM!!!! No need to dress up, just come ready to tumble down an imaginary Rabbit hole!

EXPERIMENTAL COCKTAIL CLUB The Experimental Cocktail Club sits at number 13 Gerrard Street. Easy to find you’d think given that you have the address, but the problem is that loads of the doors on the street either don’t have numbers or they’re inscribed in Mandarin or Cantonese. This is the middle of China Town, after all. The cool kids flock to the cocktail club on Fridays, although the door has no signage, I’ll let you into a little secret: keep your eyes peeled for the rather disheveled-looking door whose entrance is congregated by really cool looking people.

Cost: £5 cover charge per person after 11pm
Address: 13A Gerard Street, London
Phone: +44 (0) 20 7636 4992
Hours: Mon – Sat: 6:00 pm – 3:00 am; Sun: 6:00 pm – 12:00 am
