All The Top Spots In QLD That Are Pawfect For A Holiday With Yr Fur Baby

So you don’t want to leave your precious pooch behind. Why should you, they’re your best friend after all. To you I say, bring your wee pupper, just tailor your journey to suit. If you’re heading to Queensland – and you should, because the only creatures who love the beach as much as humans are obviously doggos – you should definitely check out these pet-friendly activities.

1. Take Them Surfing

What better place to learn/ perfect surfing and stand-up paddleboarding than the Sunshine State? I kid you not, you can take your dog with you. Heck, in Noosa you can even join in the annual Surfing Dog Championships. OR just watch, because if that’s not adorable I don’t know what is.

Of course, if you’d rather not surf just take them to one of about a gazillion dog-friendly beaches. Seriously, from top to bottom you have a lot of options. Here’s a list for you to gander.

2. Visit A Winery

What if I told you it’s not JUST a winery, but also a craft brewery and accommodation? What if I told you it was all pet-friendly? Living the dang dream right? ‘It’ is Ocean View Estates, nestled in the Hinterlands a mere hour’s drive from Brisbane. A weekend of beautiful brews and lovingly crafted bevvies? That’s a yes from me.

4. Go For A Bush Walk

There are plenty of gorgeous national parks around Queensland that allow dogs (on leashes) to go exploring with you. You can find a full list on the Parks website.

If you’re heading up north, seek out Emerald Creek in Dinden West Forest Reserve, about 70 km inland from Cairns.

There are endless options around Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast. You’ll love Brooyar State Forest in the scenic Mary Valley. You’ll get dramatic views of lush greenery and sheer rocky cliffs. Outdoor rock-climbers love it too. Or if you’re in the mood for some ocean views there’s the seaside Moreton Bay Marine Park right on Brisbane’s doorstep.
