SHIT YEAH: The Original ‘Age Of Empires’ Is Copping A Full 4K Remaster

There’s a lot of shiny new shit coming out of E3 in Los Angeles, for sure, but let’s forget about all that hi-tech wizardry for a moment and focus on the real shit: there’s an Age of Empires remaster coming.

Yep, the original game you probably scored for free in a box of Nutri-Grain is copping a full 4K remaster – in which every asset is rejigged for full beyond HD play. “We have redone every single asset,” said Adam Isgreen, creative director at Microsoft Studios
Age of Empires: Definitive Edition is coming to Windows PC later this year. You might recall that a similar remaster for Age of Empires II landed a few years ago. This is the same dealio, but if your boat is floated more by Ancient Egypt and the absolutely cooked noise the priests used to make when they were converting people, this is the game for you.
