If you’ve been champing at the bit for some new Animoji to abuse, you’re in luck, folks, four brand new ones are heading to your iPhone soon, but you must never send me the shark.

Spotted by 9to5Mac, the new characters are included in the iOS 12.2 developer beta, which was released today. The new Animoji include a shark, a giraffe, a warthog, and an owl. Like all of the current characters, they all work with the TrueDepth camera available on the iPhone X and higher.

If you’re not up to speed on the whole Animoji thing, they’re essentially animated emoji, as the name suggests. Using the front-facing camera, characters will mimic your face, allowing you to take single snaps, a short video, or even replace your own bonce during FaceTime calls.

Including the new four on the way, the total number of Animoji is now 24, most of which are your standard animals, but also include classics like the poo emoji, skull, ghost, and so on. You can check out the new set below (sans old mate shark, who’s clearly in the top image there), which were captured by 9to5Mac.

To anyone who knows me: If you send me even one shark Animoji singing that fucking Baby Shark song, I will be deleting you from my life. You have been warned.

These won’t be available to everyone until iOS 12.2 is released to all users, but if you’re really keen, you can jump on the public beta to try them out when they’re made available beyond developers.
