Samsung’s Foldable Phone Has Finally Been Revealed And She Thicc

After what seemed like endless rumours, Samsung has finally unveiled its foldable smartphone, and while we only got a brief glimpse of it, I gotta tell ya, it’s pretty impressive gear.

The company calls it the Infinity Flex Display, and it’s essentially a tablet that folds in half to form a kind of thick smartphone. When unfolded, the screen measures at 7.3 inches and allows three apps to run at the same time using a feature they’ve dubbed multi-active window.

When folded, a display on the outside behaves like a normal smartphone which is small enough to fit in your pocket. According to Samsung’s SVP of mobile marketing, Justin Denison, the company will be able to begin mass manufacturing of the flexible display in a “matter of months”.

There’s a still a lot we don’t know about the device, given Samsung only showed it in action for what was probably less than a minute in total. They even dimmed the lights prior to the reveal to hide everything but the device’s displays, so we’ll probably have to wait until the CES convention in January for more details.

Samsung unveiled the Infinity Flex Display during its Developer’s Conference in San Francisco and also announced that app makers will soon be getting access to the tools and information required to get their products ready for the tablet-phone hybrid. Google is also officially supporting the new device with its Android operating system.

You can have a look at the unveiling in the clip below.

It’s certainly very impressive stuff, and if it lives up to what Samsung is promising, it could be the next big step in mobile technology. It’s way too soon to tell for sure, but it could even be enough to pull a good chunk of Apple users away from the iPhone, but that’s a big bloody call.

Either way, we’ll have to wait for more details about the device, so stay tuned.
