If you’re tired of endlessly searching through thousands of photos in your camera roll for that adorable picture of your dog, I’ve got news for you.
Apple has a wonderful search function built into their ‘Photos’ app that literally lets you search for particular pictures.
Let’s face it, we’re all a bunch of selfie fiends. It can be difficult to find that *really* good photo your best friend took of you at that bar in Melbourne in back in May. Why scroll back through all of those random screenshots and awkward accidental selfies when you already know all the details of the photo?
Well folks, that’s where the search function comes in. It basically turns your camera roll into your very own Google Images and I’m tremendously upset that more people don’t know about this.

Gone are the days of accidentally showing your bestie a nude while you’re trying to scroll back to find a picture of your new puppy.
It’s 2019 and you are simply too good to scroll through your photos like a peasant.
A quick search of the word “dog” will bring up all of those adorable puppy photos you saved for a rainy day. Genius! We are unworthy of this incredible technology.
So how the heck do you do it?
- Open your Photos app.
- Click the search icon in the bottom right corner.
- Search for your photos by using terms like “dog”, “food” or “museum.”
- Voila! All of your photos will magically be categorised for your convenience.
It sounds stupidly simple, but you’d be amazed at how many people had no fucking idea this was a thing.
You can even search for more specific things, like “Justin Bieber Concert 2010” if you’re a diehard Belieber and you’ve attended multiple JB gigs.
If that wasn’t mind blowing enough for you, you can also just ask Siri to search your camera roll for you. All you’ve gotta do is say “hey Siri, show me photos of dogs.”
It’s 2019 and you can search your own photos like it’s bloody Google Images.
