Apple Released An Update To Fix That Pain In The Ass Autocorrect Bug

If you’re one of the unlucky folks experiencing the iOS 11.1 autocorrect bug that won’t allow you to type “I”, we have some good news.

Apple has released a fix for the issue in the form of an update – iOS 11.1.1 – which will set everything right within your phone once again.

Some users were experiencing a strange issue that changed the letter “I” to “A [?]” when typed in any app, which, as you can appreciate, is a total pain the ass. Apple offered a workaround fix that involved adding a text replacement until a more permanent solution arrived.

Luckily, the actual fix is pretty small, clocking in at only 54MB, so you won’t have to spend too long mucking around with it. It also addresses an issue where the “Hey Siri voice recognition stopped working.

To grab the fix, all you gotta do is head to Settings, tap General, then Software Update, and lastly, Download and Install. Easy bloody peasy.

While it’s annoying that it even happened at all, it’s always good to see the company respond pretty quickly with an actual fix. The text replacement fix required users to go to Settings, then General, then Keyboard to add a character substitution for the bung letter.

Hopefully that’s the last of the iOS 11 bugs.
